Tim Berkel

Timothy Peter Van Berkel ( born June 29, 1984 Albury ) is a triathlete from Australia and three -time winner of the Triathlon Long Distance (2008 in Busselton, 2010 and 2011 in Copenhagen).

Career

Tim Berkel started in 2001 in his first triathlon and 2007, over the long distance triathlon (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running). In 2008 he won at the age of 24 years the Ironman Western Australia and was the second youngest Ironman champion, just 12 days older than the German Thomas Hellriegel.

His nicknames are " Berkel " or " Berky ". In March 2012 he married Belinda Coates. Tim Van Berkel is coached by Grant Giles and today he lives in Port Macquarie.
