Tio Ellinas
Eftihios " Tio " Ellinas (* January 27th, 1992 in Larnaca ) is a Cypriot racing driver. He started in 2012 and 2013 in the GP3 Series. There he reached the fourth overall in 2013.
Career
Ellinas began his motorsport career in 2001 in karting, where he was active until 2009. Between 2003 and 2009, he won a total of ten Cypriot kart championship. He decided in his karting days at 131 start 101 races for themselves.
2010 moved Ellinas into formula racing and entered for JTR to the British Formula Ford. He won three of 25 races and was a total of 8 times on the podium. In the overall standings, he was fourth. 2011 Ellinas went for Atech Reid GP in the British Formula Renault at the start. Ellinas won two of 20 races and was a total of 14 times on the podium. At the end of the season, he finished with 475 points, third place in the drivers' standings. He was there on points with the runner-up Oliver Rowland, who had, however, achieved two more victories. In addition, Ellinas launched two races of the North European Formula Renault. Here he managed a victory. After the season Ellinas took part in testing the GP3 Series for Marussia Manor Racing. He scored a personal best.
For the 2012 season Ellinas received a GP3 Marussia Manor Racing in cockpit. After he had achieved in almost every race points, followed by the last race of the season, his first GP3 victory. Ellinas was the only pilot of his racing team, who had retracted points. He finished the season in eighth place. 2013 Marussia Manor Racing at Ellinas remained in the GP3 Series. He started with a victory in the feature race at the Circuit de Catalunya in the season and led the championship, the first five of eight events. Therefore, in this period only once more came to the podium, he eventually lost the lead. Ellinas eventually went on to win the last race of the season at the Yas Marina Circuit. As the best pilot of his achievements, he was fourth overall. He also graduated from the Formula 1 racing team Manor, Marussia, test drives.
