Todd Larkham

Todd Larkham ( born October 13, 1974 in Canberra ) is an Australian former tennis player.

Life

Larkhams parents owned a tennis center, and both worked as a tennis coach. Both Todd and his two years younger brother Brent were therefore fed from childhood on the sport of tennis. He was a professional tennis player in 1993 and played mostly at tournaments in the ATP Challenger Tour. In 1992 he won at the side of the British Chris Wilkinson, the Challenger tournament in Olbia. His second and last doubles title he won in Grenoble with his compatriot Michael Tebbutt. His only individual title he won in 2003 in Scheveningen by a final victory against Diego Veronelli. In tournaments, the ATP World Tour, he already failed mostly in the qualification, a noteworthy exception was the Bournemouth Open in 1998 when he defeated Miles MacLagan and was defeated in the second round Stefan Koubek.

Throughout his career, he was an individual title and two doubles titles on the Challenger Tour win. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 2003 with position 136 in single and in 1998 with position 168 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round at the Australian Open in 2003, where he was defeated after three qualifying rounds and his first round victory over Cecil Mamiit in the second round against Lleyton Hewitt. He had special lucky draw at Grand Slam tournaments not, he met in his Erstrundenpartien among other things, Andre Agassi, Tim Henman and Pete Sampras. In the doubles competition, he reached respectively in 1996 and 1998, the second round of the Australian Open.

Larkham came back in 2004 from professional sports.
