Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line

The Yurakucho Line (Japanese有 楽 町 线, Yurakucho - sen) is one of the nine metro lines of the Tōkyō Metro, one of the two subway companies in Tokyo.

The 28.3 km long route runs from the North West of Tokyo in the east and along the Sumida. It starts at Wakoshi station in Saitama Prefecture, and ends in Shin- Kiba. The color of the route map is yellow, the line has the recognition letter Y followed by the distinguishing number of each station. Yurakucho the line is referred to as line 8. Is named the line after Tokyo's Yurakucho ( Yurakucho station Y -18 ) near the Ginza.

History

On October 30, 1974, the first part of the Yurakucho line of Wakoshi was opened after Ginza itchome. On March 27, 1980, followed by the extension to Shintomicho near the Ginza. Finally, the line to Shin- kiba was finally removed on June 8, 1988.

Division into sections

The Yurakucho Line shares for several years, some road sections with the Tōbu Tōjō Main Line, Seibu Ikebukuro with the line, and the Fukutoshin line.

On June 14, opened in 2008 on the route of the line, a so-called Semi -Express (准 急, junkyū ), which runs twice per hour on the track of Wakoshi to Shin - kiba and distance between the beginning and the Ikebukuro train station only once, namely in Kotake - mukaihara (Y -06 ) holds. From Ikebukuro Station to Shin- kiba the Semi- Express stops at all stations below.

Extension

At the Yurakucho Line, a new branch line is planned. From Toyosu Station (Y -22) should lead to Noda a new route north over Kameari in Chiba Prefecture.

On the Yurakucho line mostly by vehicles of the 7000 (1974) and 10000 (2006) series with 10 cars.
