Toledo District

Toledo is the southernmost province ( district) in Belize ( Central America) and has an area of ​​4413 km ² around 28,000 inhabitants (calculated 2006).

The provincial capital of Toledo is Punta Gorda.

In Toledo there are the historic Mayan ruins of Lubaantun, Nim Li Punit and Uxbenka. Other cities in Toledo: San Antonio ( largest settlement of the Mopan Maya ), Monkey River Town, Toledo Settlement, and the villages of San Pedro Columbia and Silver Creek.
