Tom Chorske

Thomas P. "Tom" Chorske ( born September 18, 1966 in Minneapolis, Minnesota ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1985 to 2001 among others for the Canadiens de Montréal, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames and Pittsburgh Penguins played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Tom Chorske began his career as a hockey player in the team of the high school teams Southwest High Lakers. After completing his high school career Chorske won the annual award as Minnesota Mr. Hockey, which honors the best high school player of the U.S. state of Minnesota in the calendar year 1985. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1985 in the first round than a total of 16 players from the Canadiens de Montréal. First, however, he attended between 1985 and 1989 the University of Minnesota, for their hockey team he played in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Only the 1987/88 season he spent with the U.S. national team, with which he was preparing for the 1988 Winter Olympics, but he was removed from the Olympic squad shortly before the competition.
