Toma Audo

Thomas Audo ( born October 11, 1855 in Alqosh; † 27 ( ) June 1918 in Urmia? ) Was a bishop of the Chaldean semitist and Catholic Church.

Thomas ( Tuma ) Audo, son of the priest Hormozd bar Mikhael, came from a Chaldean Catholic family, emerged from the several bishops. His uncle Mar Joseph VI. Audo was Patriarch of Babylon, Thomas ' brother Israel Audo († 1941) since 1909, Metropolitan of Mardin.

After completing his studies in Rome (1869-1880) Thomas Audo was ordained a priest in 1882. He seemed then as Patriarchal Vicar in Aleppo and rector of the Syro -Chaldean seminary in Mosul. On September 4, 1892, he was appointed Archbishop of Urmia and Salama. In the wake of clashes between Muslim and Christian Kurds Assyrians it was the end of July 1918 was shot in the yard of his Bishop house and succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
