Tomáš Šimkovič

Tomas Šimkovič ( born April 16, 1987 in Bratislava) is an Austrian footballer of Slovak origin. From 2008 to 2011, he plays for SC Magna Wiener Neustadt, from 2012 in Vienna Austria.

Life and career

Šimkovič was born in 1987 in the Slovak capital Bratislava. Šimkovič ' parents both come from Slovakia. His father Boris was at that time working as a lawyer, and is now Mayor of Slovak town Zahorska Ves, which has some 1,600 inhabitants. After his parents had moved to Tulln on the Danube, the midfielder played in the small Austrian clubs Kirchberg am Wagram and the UPS Großriedenthal in their youth. Furthermore Šimkovič spent some time at Rapid Vienna before he visited the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn.

In 2005 he came to the amateur team of Austria Vienna, in which he played until January 2008. From January 2008 Šimkovič was at SC Swan City under contract. After the club moved its headquarters to Oberwaltersdorf as SC Magna Wiener Neustadt in the summer of 2008, Šimkovič moved to new Stronach Club in Lower Austria.

International Šimkovič played for almost all Austrian youth selections. His greatest successes were the semi-finals of the U-19 European Championship in 2006 and the U -20 World Cup Canada 2007, where he was instrumental with two appearances in the success of the U -20 team in Austria. The Slovakian native now has Austrian citizenship and plays in the first team of the Vienna Austria, where he was in 2013 Austrian champion.
