Tomi Koivusaari

Tomi Koivusaari (born 11 April 1973) is a Finnish musician. He became known as a guitarist and former lead singer of Amorphis and former guitarist of Ajattara.

Career

Tomi Koivusaari began in 1987 at the age of 14 years to play the guitar. At that time, he founded as a guitarist and singer with Jan Rechberger and Esa Holopainen the speed metal band Violent Solution. The band released in 1990, the demo Paralysis / Individual Nightmare and the EP Period of depression. At the same time he played in the death-metal band Abhorrence. After the dissolution of both bands and Esa Holopainen January Rechberger founded with him the band Amorphis. He was originally supposed to only play guitar, but eventually took over the vocals.

In 1994, the album Amorphis Tales from the Thousand Lakes, in which Tomi Koivusaari was supplemented by the singer Ville Tuomi.
