Tommy Ford (skier)

Tommy Ford ( born March 20, 1989 in Bend, Oregon) is an American alpine skier. His strongest disciplines of giant slalom, slalom and super -G.

Biography

Ford played his first FIS race in December 2004. First great success he achieved at the U.S. Junior Championships in March 2006, when he won the slalom, giant slalom, Super -G and the combination and second in the downhill was. From 2007 to 2009 Ford participated in three World Junior Championships. During 2007, his best result of the 22 place in the slalom was, he was in 2008 ranked fourth in the giant slalom just behind the medals. His previous best World Cup result reached Ford on February 5, 2011 in Hinterstoder with rank 11 in the Super -G. Four days later, he scored in the Super- G World Cup 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen on the 14th place, while He left after the World Cup giant slalom in the second round. In the Nor- Am Cup, he celebrated in the 2010/11 season with two wins and reached the second place in the giant slalom standings. Like last year, he was in 2011 three times U.S. champion, this time in super-G, giant slalom and combined.

In the World Cup season 2011/2012 Ford drove in four giant slaloms into the top 20 with a 12th place in Bansko was his best result of the season.
