Tony DiLeo

Tony DiLeo ( born August 8, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American professional basketball coach and sports director, who has successfully worked as a women's team in Germany and on an interim basis coached the NBA club from his hometown. Since 2003, DiLeo worked as a Vice Director of the Philadelphia 76ers, interrupted only by his work as a trainer in the 2008 /09 season.

DiLeo began his studies at Tennessee Technological University and played for the Golden Eagles of TTU in the basketball team 1974 to 1975. Afterwards he moved to the La Salle University his hometown and played for the Explorers from 1976 to 1978 in the NCAA under the later NBA & WNBA coach Paul Westhead.

He then found his way to Germany and was coach of the Women's National Basketball League team DJK Agon 08 Dusseldorf. In his first Coach of the Year in Dusseldorf, he was able to win the second championship of the Association after 1975, which should follow six league titles and 1986 in consecutive order. In the cup this winning streak was interrupted only in 1982, otherwise also the double was won in all seasons of coach DiLeo.
