Tony Giammalva

Tony Giammalva (* April 21, 1958 in Houston, Texas ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Life

Giammalva played for Trinity University. In 1980 he reached the Swedish Open in his first and only final on the ATP World Tour, but it lost to Balázs Taróczy.

He was more successful in doubles competition, where he won four titles and was in five other finals. The title in Tokyo, he won at his brother Sammy the page. His best finish in the tennis world rankings he had in each position with 70 in 1981 and 1985 in a double position 32

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round at the French Open and Wimbledon in 1981. 's Doubles competition he could be reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and the French Open.

His father Sam Giammalva was a member of the U.S. Davis Cup teams in the 1950s.
