Tooru Fujisawa

Tōru Fujisawa (Japanese藤沢 とおる, Tōru Fujisawa; born January 12, 1967 in Hokkaidō, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. He works for the Kodansha publishing house.

Biography

He studied at the Kamakura Gakuen. His first published the manga artist who was influenced by Tatsuya Egawa, author of Golden Boy and his other manga, with the short story Love You 1989 in the manga magazine Magazine Fresh!. In the same year he began his first long manga titled Adesugata Junjo Boy for the shōnen magazines to draw, in the published among other things, Hajime no Ippo by George Morikawa and Love Hina by Ken Akamatsu.

From 1990 to 1996 he worked at Shonan Jun'ai - gumi! That includes more than 5000 pages. Between 1994 and 1997, five episodes of an original video animation have been released based on this manga in Japan. A sort of sequel to Shonan Jun'ai - gumi! presents his next manga series Great Teacher Onizuka, represent, which became his biggest success to date. He describes the life of a young, unemployed man who gets a job as a teacher. The manga, often abbreviated as GTO, was made into a 43- episode anime series and in a 12 -part television drama. Fujisawa won for Great Teacher Onizuka, which ended in 2002 after over 4500 pages, the 1998 Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category.

Since the conclusion of Great Teacher Onizuka Fujisawa has drawn inter alia Rose Hip Rose for the manga magazine Young Magazine Uppers. The story he continued in Rose Hip Zero Rose Hip and Magnum. While his baseball manga Wild Base Ballers as well as most of his other works were first published in Shōnen Magazine, appeared Tokko to the 2006, a 13 - episode anime adaptation was created from 2003 to 2004 Afternoon magazine, which at an older readership directed.
