Torin Koos

Torin Koos ( born July 19, 1980 in Minneapolis ) is an American cross-country skier.

Torin Koos live in Leavenworth and starts Leavenworth Winter Sports. Since 1999, he initially joined in unterklassigen races, such as the Continental Cup and FIS races. In 2000 he was at the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso fifth in the sprint. About this route, he started for the first time at the 2001 Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti. In December, he debuted in the Italian Cogne in the World Cup and was 70th in the sprint. The highlight of the season was the participation in the domestic 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In the sprint races of Soldier Hollow, he finished 35th. It took another three years until he in the team sprint Canmore came in December 2005 with Andrew Newell first time in the top ten of the World Cup. In early 2007 he was in a sprint from Otepaeae first time as third on the podium and achieve his best result so far. By 2007 Koos was in all the Nordic World Ski Championships at the start, the best results were a 14th place in the team sprint in Oberstdorf in 2005 and a 15th place in the same discipline and two years later in Sapporo. So far (as of 1 November 2007) Koos won a race in the Continental Cup, three races of the North America Cup, and a FIS race. In 2005 he was in Snow Farm U.S. Sprint Champion, and others, more than 15 kilometers. He reached another third place in 2007 in Houghton in the sprint. Three times Koos has so far put in about 30 World Cup races in the top ten.
