Toshinari Takaoka

Toshinari Takaoka (高 冈 寿 成Takaoka Japanese Toshinari; * September 24, 1970 in Yamashiro, today Kizugawa ) is a Japanese long-distance runner, who has specialized in recent years in the marathon.

He had his first success on the track. In 1994 he won at the Asian Games gold in 5000 -meter and 10,000 -meter run, and in the following years he set the current national records over 3000m ( 7:41,87 ), 5000 m ( 13:13,40 ) and 10,000 m ( 27:35,09 ) on. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he became Fifteenth over 5000 m and seventh in the 10,000 m.

In 2001 he was on his debut over this distance third in the Fukuoka Marathon. He occupied the same place a year later, the Chicago Marathon and set it with the current Asian record at 2:06:16. Also, he finished third in the Fukuoka Marathon in 2003 and the Chicago Marathon in 2004.

With a victory at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon, he qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, where he finished fourth.

At the Tokyo International Women's Marathon 2006, he took second place.

Toshinari Takaoka has a competition weight of 64 kg at a height of 1.86 m.
