Toto is the debut album by the American band Toto. It was released on October 15, 1978 by Columbia Records.

Creation and publication

Soon after the founding of the band's first album was recorded in Hollywood, David Paich was the main songwriter. Guest musicians were Lenny Castro ( percussion), Jim Horn, Chuck Findley (both instruments ), Marty Paich, Sid Sharp (both string instruments), involved Roger Linn (keyboard) and Cheryl Lynn (vocals ). Toto was taken by Dan Latham and Gabe Veltri, mixed by Tom Knox and mastered by Mike Reese and Ron Hitchcock at the Mastering Lab in Los Angeles. The album was initially released on LP, MC and 8-track cartridge, the first CD version was made in 1990 the market.

Reception

Although the album or its singles were radio and chart successes, the music press criticized, however, that Toto's music was entirely handmade and there is a lack of inspiration to her. In Rolling Stone, for example, David Paichs songwriting and Bobby Kimball's vocals were criticized.
