The Toyota Stadium is a football stadium in Frisco, Texas (USA). The stadium was opened on 6 August 2005, is the home of the MLS soccer team FC Dallas. Construction costs amounted to approximately 80 million U.S. dollars.

The stadium

The stadium has a capacity of 20,500 seats. Similar to the Toyota Park, the FC Dallas Stadium a permanent concert stage on the north side instead of a spectator stand. There are 18 luxury boxes for numerous powerful fans. The stadium was opened on August 6, 2005 with a match between FC Dallas and the New York MetroStars, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

In addition to the stadium, the site 17 more football fields with natural and artificial turf. The FC Dallas uses these spaces as a training ground and as a venue for the reserve teams. Furthermore, these places are played on youth tournaments.

The owner is the City of Frisco. The management and operations takes over the Frisco Soccer, LP.

Sponsoring

In 2005, the naming rights were sold for the stadium at the restaurant chain Pizza Hut. In January 2012 ended the sponsorship and the sports complex was renamed FC Dallas Stadium.

On September 17, 2013, Toyota took over the naming rights of the station. The surrounding places have since also called Toyota Soccer Center.

Important Games

On 13 November 2005, the MLS Cup was held at Pizza Hut Park in 2005. The Los Angeles Galaxy beat the New England Revolution 1-0 after extra time. A year later the plant was again the venue for the MLS Cup. This time, the Houston Dynamo won 5-4 on penalties against the New England Revolution.
