Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia

The TILO SA ( Treni Regionali Ticino Lombardia ) is a 2004 formed subsidiary of SBB and Trenitalia. The company's headquarters is located in Chiasso, Switzerland.

Stretch

TILO operates the S -Bahn Ticino, S10 and S30 lines operate their transportation services between Ticino in Lombardy. By December 2008, TILO also ran regional traffic between Chiasso and Lombardy and the S9 S-Bahn Milan, which will now be directly operated by Trenitalia.

2007 were transported by TILO around 5.4 million passengers.

For 2013, the start of operation of the new line Mendrisio- Varese is planned, whereby the Milan Malpensa Airport is better connected. For these lines, the numbers S40 and S50 are reserved.

Rolling stock

The rolling stock has been hired by the parent companies, as a complete package with maintenance by the owner. For longer stays, the vehicles with specific address and custom paint are provided. After the rental vehicles are returned and used elsewhere by the parent companies.
