Trinko Keen

Trinko Keen ( born September 22, 1971 in Wageningen ) is a Dutch table tennis national team. He was Vice-European Champion in doubles.

National success

Keen is left-handed. In the Netherlands championships he won six singles titles (1996, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2007) and twelve doubles title (1990, 1991 Casper Mol, 1992-1995 and 1999-2004 with Danny Heister ).

International Activities

From 1989 to 2007 Keen participated in twelve world championships. He arrived with the Dutch team in 2000 to the places five to eight. Between 1992 and 2008 he was nominated seven times for European Championships. Here he achieved his greatest success in 2008, when he came in a double with the Austrian Werner Schlager in the final, which was lost with 3:4 against the German double Timo Boll / Christian Suss. It was the first medal winning a Dutchman with an EM. The semi-final he reached at the European Championships in 1998 and 2002 in a double single with Danny Heister.

In the European ranking tournament TOP - 12, in which he took six times, he always came to a rank between nine and eleven. 1997 and 2001 he played finals at the ITTF Pro Tour Grand. In 1997, he came in a double quarter-finals, as well as in 2001 in singles, after Timo Boll defeated in the first round.

1996, 2000 and 2004, he qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics. He never came near of medal ranks. Also for the 2008 Olympic Games, he qualified according to the criteria of the ITTF. However, the National Olympic Committee of the Netherlands, he refused to participate in this tournament because he did not fulfill its requirements.

In the ITTF World Ranking he was last listed in September 2009, where he was ranked 72. His best finish was 18th place in April 2002.

2008 Trinko Keen ended his international career.

Activities in Germany

By 1993, Keen played at the Belgian club La Louviere Centre, he joined the German Bundesliga club TTC Jülich. The following stations:

When European team competition ETTU Cup he won in 1998/99 with TTC Jülich and 2004/ 05 with the SV Pluederhausen the title. With Borussia Dusseldorf he was the 2009/10 Champions League winners.

Trinko Keen has two sisters, namely Dieke and the table tennis national team Gerdie.
