Gerdie Keen

Gerdie Keen ( born September 29, 1969 in Wageningen ) is a Dutch table tennis player. She was runner-up in singles at the 1994 European Championships.

National

In the Dutch Championships Gerdie Keen won thirteen titles, namely the single in 1989, 1996, 1997 and 1998, the double 1989 ( with Brenda Hunterslag ), 1990, 1991, 1992 ( with Emily Noor ), 1993, 1996, 1997 ( with Mirjam Kloppenburg ) and 1998 ( with Melisa Muller ) as well as in the 1988 Mixed Geert Verhaegh. With the club De Treffers '70 it was in 1994/95 and 1995/96 Dutch team champion.

Internationally

From 1985 to 1999 Keen was eight times nominated for the World Championships. They came in 1985 and 1987 with the Dutch women's team to fourth place. Five times she participated in the European Championships, where she worked with the second place in the individual had their greatest success in 1994. In the final they defeated the Swede Marie Svensson. Four times they still reached the quarter-finals, namely 1990 and 1992 in singles, 1992 Mixed with Trinko Keen and 1998 in a double with Simion Adriana Nastase (Romania). 1996 Keen qualified for participation in the Summer Olympics. Here she divorced in singles and doubles already out in the first round.

In the ITTF World Ranking was performed in February 1999 at No. 56.

Germany

In 1997 Gerdie Keen from the club De Treffers '70 in the German Bundesliga for TuS Glane and the following year to Bayer Uerdingen, with its women's team reached the final of the ETTU Cup 1998/99.

Private

2000 ended Gerdie Keen their active career and then worked for the Dutch Table Tennis Association.

She is the elder sister of the table tennis player Trinko Keen and has another sister named Dieke.
