Trolleybuses in Chieti

The trolleybus Chieti ( Chieti Filovia Italian ) is a composed of a line of electric transport in the Italian province capital of Chieti in the Abruzzo region. The line connects the enthroned on a mountain ridge old town of Chieti Alta with industry Chieti Scalo settlement in the valley, where there is also the railway station of the Italian State Railways. Here, a vertical drop of over 150 meters is overcome. Recently, an extension was put into operation at the northern end of the existing line. Operator is the local public transport company La Panoramica.

Line

The O- Line 1 bus just east of the old town on the forecourt of the main cemetery next to the church of Sant'Anna, which is the terminus of its name. History

The top line bus system in Chieti already exists since 1 August 1950 and replaced then a narrow- gauge railway, which was heavily damaged during the Second World War. The line ran between Sant'Anna and Madonna delle Piane (now Martini Pennesi ) on the route still in use today and thus established a connection between the situated on the mountain town center and train station Pescaratal ago.

Depots

La Panoramica has two depots in Chieti Alta. The older is the tightest spaces right next to the track on the Via Padre Alessandro Valignani and is equipped with overhead lines.
