Trolleybuses in Lecce

The trolleybus Lecce is an account opened in 2012 and consisting of three lines of O- bus system in the Apulian city of Lecce in the Italian peninsula Salento that of the Società Gestione Multipla SpA is operated.

Line network

Since inception of the diameter line 29 on January 12, 2012 and the commissioning of the two ring lines on 2 February 2013, the line network now consists of a total of three lines (as of July 2013):

Line 29 begins at the station and reached via the Viale Oronzo Quarta the city ring she is traveling to the intersection of Viale Gallipoli Polo Viale Francesco Lo Re and. History

Planning

In 2005 it was decided in Lecce for the introduction of O bus as an environmentally friendly transport means. It was planned electrification of three lines:

  • Line 1: Station ↔ inner ring road in both directions (approximately 6 km)
  • Line 2: Station ↔ university campus Ecotekne ( 6 km)
  • Line 3: Railway City Terminal ↔ P R ↔ Porta Napoli (3 km )

In the same year, the bid for the construction and supply of electrical equipment and vehicles. It won the company IMET, Sirti (installation of overhead lines and poles ) Van Hool (vehicles ) and Vossloh Kiepe ( electrical components).

Construction

Already on 11 May 2007 was a first test drive rather than in the still unfinished network, which was also Mayor Adriana Poli Bortone and her deputy Paul Perrone took part.

Commissioning

On 12 January 2012, planned as a line 3 line was taken from the station through the city center to the Porta Napoli with a delay of about four and a half years under the line number 29 in operation. Rolling stock

The first car was delivered on 29 March 2007 and presented to Lecce Mobility Tech to the public in the course of the O -Bus session. The other trolley buses were delivered gradually from autumn 2007. Start of operations in 2012, eight cars were delivered, four more were at this time at Van Hool in Belgium.

Capital equipment

The O- Busplanungen included the construction of a depot northwest of the Piazza del bastions at Via Antonio Perilli. For the operating voyages from and to the depot no overhead lines are provided so that this is the auxiliary drive for use.
