Trond Sollied

Trond Johan Sollied ( born April 29, 1959 in Mo i Rana ) is a Norwegian football player and coach.

Playing career

Sollied began his playing career with Mo IL, the local club in his hometown. In 1982 he moved to Oslo at Vålerenga, two years later, he signed a contract with Rosenborg BK in Trondheim. At the end of his career as a player, he played two years for Bodø / Glimt, where he served as player-coach.

National

Sollied played 15 caps for the Norwegian national football team and scored a goal.

Coaching career

Already in his second year as coach, he was able to Bodø / Glimt reach the runner-up in the Tippeligaen, the first Norwegian league and win the Norwegian Cup. At the end of this season, he finished his career as a player and from now on only acted as head coach. He spent three more years at Bodø / Glimt to subsequently switch back to his old club Rosenborg BK. There he was in the first year as an assistant under Nils Arne Eggen Norwegian champion in the 1998 season, Rosenborg could defend with the head coach Sollied the title and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

In 1999 Sollied changed in the Belgian First Division, first to KAA Gent, 2001 then to FC Bruges. During his time in Bruges he was two -time Belgian champion and cup winner, in addition, the association was able to repeatedly qualify for the Champions League. In 2005 he finished his work in Belgium, one year before the expiry of his contract. He joined the Greek club Olympiakos Piraeus tip, with which he was able to win the championship in his first season. Despite standings for the winter break, he was released in December 2006 in Piraeus, too disappointing ran two seasons in the Champions League. In the 2007 /08 season he was back working as a coach in Ghent; between summer 2008 and August 2009, he was the successor of Gertjan Verbeek at SC Heerenveen.

For the 2013/14 season Sollied changed in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sanica Boru Elazığspor. On October 28, 2013 Sollied was released in Elazığspor.
