The Tumen ( Tuman also called ) is a river in Northeast Asia.
The Tumen rises on the eastern flank of the volcano Paektusan Changbai Mountains on North Korean territory. It flows in a predominantly easterly, north-easterly direction and forms later after a few kilometers, the North Korean- Chinese border. In the lower reaches, the river turns south and southeast and forms on the last 17 km, the border of North Korea to Russia. Finally, the Tumen empties into the Sea of Japan. The Tumen has a length of 521 km. Its main tributaries are Hongqi He红旗 河, Gaya Hey嗄 呀 河, Burhatong He布尔哈 通河, Hailan He海兰 河and Hunchun He珲春 河.

The river's name comes from the language of the Jurchen and means " ten thousand".
