Twistetal is a municipality in northern Hesse Waldeck- Frankenberg.
Center of the community Twistetal and seat of the municipal administration is Twiste.

Geography
Geographical location
The community Twistetal is about 5.8 km ( straight line ) southwest of Bad Arolsen. It is traversed by a portion of the Twiste, which flows a few kilometers downstream and north-east by the Arolsen.

The neighboring municipalities and cities Twistetals are listed clockwise: the north and east borders the town of Bad Arolsen in the municipal area, in the southeast of the city Waldeck, in the southwest of the city Korbach and to the west the town Diemelsee.
History
As part of the municipal reform was on 31 December 1971, the municipality Twistetal by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Bern village, Elleringhausen, Mühlhausen, Niederwaroldern, top Waroldern and Twiste as a "buffer " between the two cities and Korbach Arolsen.
The administrative headquarters is located in Twiste. Today, in a former manor house, the local government of the municipality Twistetal is housed.
Incorporations
The existing community Gembeck was incorporated on January 1, 1974.

The municipal election held 27 March 2011 yielded the following results: The municipal council consists of 23 members in Twistetal.
Traffic
Through the community Twistetal leads a portion of federal highway 252 from Korbach to Bad Arolsen. The district Twiste is also a breakpoint RE- connection from Kassel to Korbach.
Excursions
Popular destinations close to the community Twistetal are the Arolsen, the Edersee, Diemelsee and Bad Arolsen and the National Park Keller.
