Two Knights Defense, Max Lange Attack

The Max Lange attack is a Gambit opening of chess that can emerge through diverter from various open-ended games. The variant was first described in 1854 by Max Lange in the German chess magazine and was until the early 20th century, very popular. The position is attributed to the Two Knights in Nachzuge and carries the ECO code C55. Black can avoid this by taking evasive on the anti- Long - variant ( C56 ).
