Tyrnavos (Greek Τύρναβος ( m. sg. ), Formerly Tournavos Τούρναβος ) is a Greek town and municipality located in the Greek region of Thessaly. It is located southwest of Olympus, 22 km south of the small town Elassona and north of the town Larisa. By Tyrnavos the river Titarisios, an important tributary of the Pinios flows. 3 km east of the city Tyrnavos the only (small ) lake is located in the Regional District of Larisa.

The municipality Tyrnavos was considerably enlarged by the annexation of the neighboring Ambelonas 2010 and has since then made ​​two municipal districts, in the municipality of Tyrnavos the majority of the population ( 12,451 ) live in the urban core Tyrnavos.
