Tyrolean Oberland
As the Tyrolean Oberland is referred to the western part of the country's North Tyrol part of the federal state of Tyrol
At Concept and definition
The Oberland comprises the area west of Innsbruck (specifically taken west of the Melach ) except Außerfern in the northwest, so the Upper Inn Valley and all of its side valleys.
In some cases, the Außerfern is also counted to the Oberland, although this is a heavily insulated from the Tyrolean Oberland area. The reasons for this are mostly of an administrative nature, because the Außerfern has a very small population.

In the run for the official statistics of the EU NUTS breakdown Tiroler Oberland is one of the five groups of districts (NUTS: AT -2) in Tirol, carries the code AT334 and includes the two political districts:
The district Innsbruck Land, the one traditionally partially belongs to the upper or to the lower country falls into AT332 Innsbruck.

Culture and Language
In the Tyrolean Oberland mainly südbairische dialects are spoken, which makes itself felt more and more of Imst Westward an Alemannic accent. The dialect of the Walser village of Galtür in the Paznaun and in St. Anton am Arlberg in Stanzertal can already count to Alemannic dialect continuum.
In addition, some dialects have in Außerfern to oberländer dialects quite similar, which can even in Tirol cause confusion.
