Ufuk Talay

Ufuk Talay ( born March 26, 1976 in Sydney, Australia ) is a former Turkish Australian football player and current coach. In addition to the Australian nationality he still possesses the Turkish, which is why he took no place of foreigners quota during his tenure at Turkish clubs.

Career

Marconi Stallions FC

Talay began his career with Marconi Stallions FC, ​​the then played in the NSL until the league was dissolved by the A-League. He was initially committed as a substitute for Steve Corica, but established itself as a regular player. He made his debut late in the season 1992/93, when only six games were to play. Talay played in all six straight games in the starting lineup and scored a goal. He played three more years as an important key players for the club until he moved to Galatasaray in 1995.

Turkey

At the beginning of the 1995/96 season Talay has been committed by the Turkish giants Galatasaray. Most of the time however, he was awarded and therefore he completed only 28 games for Galatasaray and scored a goal. Talay was awarded to first and second division of the Turkish league as Medical Park Antalyaspor, Bursaspor and Karabükspor and then to the then French second division side Nîmes Olympique. He was then sold to Gaziantepspor in 2002 and from there he moved to Mersin Idmanyurdu, which was his last stop in Turkey.

Sydney FC

As the sixteenth transfer of the football club Sydney FC in the season 2005 / 06, he was playing with his former team-mates from Marconi Stallions FC Steve Corica and Clint Bolton.

His first season with Sydney FC was terminated early due to a knee injury. After he had recovered to the 2006/07 season back from his injury, he spent some time on the bench, as the new head coach Terry Butcher preferred a central interaction of the two players Terry McFlynn and Mark Milligan. Due to the violation of other players the opportunity arose for Talay again to be included in the starting eleven, he took advantage of this and remained an important key players of the team for the remainder of the season.

2007 Sydney FC qualified for the AFC Champions League. Talay played in all the games that you compete in the tournament and each scored a goal against Shanghai Shenhua and Urawa Red Diamonds. In the return match against Shanghai Shenhua, he missed a penalty and the game ended goalless.

After the season 2007 / 08, had missed a game in which only due to suspension, he did not renew his contract with Sydney and followed his ex- team -mate Mark Rudan to Japan to the Japanese second division club Avispa Fukuoka.

Time in Japan and return to Australia
