Uğur Yıldırım

Uğur Yıldırım (born 5 August 1982 Apeldoorn) is a Dutch- Turkish football player.

Career

Yıldırım came in 2000 from the youth of the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer to the senior squad. There he quickly established itself and became a regular player. In the Eerste Divisie he drew attention to himself, as he succeeded in 2002/03, 18 goals and 19 goals the following season.

2004 Yıldırım was therefore obliged by the first division club SC Heerenveen. Here he immediately became a regular player.

Yıldırım, who owns both the Dutch, and Turkish citizenship, had to decide in early 2005, in which national team he wants to compete. Marco van Basten and Ersun Yanal invited him each one for country selection. Yıldırım opted for the Dutch selection and had to be so far the only international game on February 9, 2005, when he appeared as a substitute in the match against England in the 64th minute for Romeo Castelen. For the 2007/2008 season, he moved to Turkey to Gaziantepspor, after which he moved to Sivasspor in the spring of 2008.

In a free-kick competition in Marbella, Spain, which was dubbed by organizers as kick World Cup, Yıldırım was the title - and a luxury car - win. He suggested, among others, Zinedine Zidane.
