UK Independence Party

The United Kingdom Independence Party ( short name: UKIP ) is a Eurosceptic and populist, sometimes also referred to as a radical liberal British party whose main goal is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Party Leader of UKIP 's Nigel Farage ( MEP ) of the Office of Malcolm Pearson took over in November 2010, after he had previously submitted himself to this one year only. The party is organized into 12 regional branches.

In the European elections in June 2004 UKIP scored 16.8% of the vote and 12 seats in the European Parliament. After the exclusion of Ashley Mote MEP ( NI) from the party the 11 remaining UKIP Members of the Eurosceptic Independence and Democracy Group (Ind / DEM) joined.

Later, the driving force of the European election campaign, the famous TV talk show host Robert Kilroy- Silk, who had been in the 1980s for the Labour Party in the House of Commons, the UKIP group in the European Parliament left. In the general election on 5 May 2005, he joined with his new party at Veritas ( truth ). At the general election in 2010 UKIP increased its vote share to 3.1 %, but again no seat in the House.

In regional elections in May 2013 in England and Wales UKIP achieved considerable share of the vote and was 147 (6.2% ) of the total in 2362 to select standing (not selected in all municipalities ) win council seats in England, representing a gain of 5.9 percentage points corresponded.
