Umeå FC

Umeå FC is a Swedish football club from the city of Umeå.

History

The association was created in 1987 by merging the departments of football clubs Tegs SK, SK and Sandåkerns Gimonäs CK, thereby providing a competitive football team. At the time, played all three clubs in the then Division 2

For the new club a 7-year plan was designed with the objective to achieve the first Swedish football league in 1994. This goal was finally realized in the 1996 season, where the club played for one season in the Allsvenskan this. They dismounted, despite an eleventh place, because you could not decide for the play-offs against Panos Ljungskile. 1998 one was prior to re- promotion to the Allsvenskan, but you lost the qualifiers against Örgryte IS.

In the 2005 season Umeå FC rose to the second-class Superettan, but the team was relegated after only one year off immediately. Subsequently, the club established in the third-class Division 1 and finally managed a 2-1 victory on the final day of the 2011 season promotion to the Superettan as Masters of the North Season. The projection on the fourth-placed Dalkurd FF amounted to just two points.
