Unbinilium

Unbinilium (symbol Ubn, portmanteau of "un " = 1, "bi" = 2, " nil " = 0, ie 1-2 -0- ium ) is not yet proven chemical element with atomic number 120, it is also called eka- radium called.

In the extended periodic table it is among the Transactinoiden ( in the normal periodic table it is not shown).

In Unbinilium is a radioactive element that does not occur naturally and therefore has yet to be produced by nuclear fusion. It should be part of the so-called " island of stability ", ie, in contrast to most other Transactinoiden not decay within fractions of a second, but considerably longer endure. The most stable would be the isotope 304Ubn due to its ideal 184 neutrons ( see Magic numbers ).

Attempts by the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt- Arheilgen to prove the element, have so far failed. At the same time, the United Institute of Nuclear Research in Dubna, near Moscow attempted to detect the element.
