University of Illinois Willard Airport is an airport in the University of Illinois with four runways.

It is located in Tolono Township, south of the municipal boundary of Savoy (Illinois), a suburb of Champaign ( Illinois). The airport serves Champaign, Urbana (Illinois), the University and the surrounding area in east - central Illinois. A regular bus service between Champaign, public transport and the airport.

Visitors from around the world fly to Champaign - Urbana to collaborate with researchers at the University, or to do business with companies that are located around the university. However, many airlines prefer to serve Zentralillinois through the airport in Bloomington -Normal. Since Willard Airport is home to no federal authorities for immigration and customs control, it is not possible to offer international flights. The higher prices demanded by airlines to fly to a regional airport, compared to an international hub like Chicago, also contribute to a reduction in traffic.

Willard Airport is also the home of the University of Illinois Institute of Aviation, which is an important research facility of the University. This Willard is one of the few airports in possession of a research university. The air traffic Institute is classified as one of the ten best in the nation and has numerous prestigious awards won.
