The University of Trieste (Italian Università degli Studi di Trieste) is the University of Trieste, which was founded in 1924. Today the university has twelve faculties with 27,500 students and about 1,000 faculty members.

History

In 1877, a commercial college (Italian: Scuola Superiore di Commercio ) was established from the estate of Baron Pasquale Revoltella Trieste ( 1795-1869 ). After the imperial monarchy had lost control of Trieste in the First World War, the Italian government changed in 1920, the business school in a K. School of Economic and Commercial Sciences. 1924, the law school was founded, which was the University of Trieste, together with the Faculty of Business Administration.

During the Second World War, Professor College founded in 1943 in view of the danger of a division of the Italian territory and the introduction of a German military administration on its own initiative, the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy and then the Faculty of shipbuilding and mechanical engineering.

In the postwar period it took the expansion activity back to 1946, the Faculty of Science was created; other faculties followed by little. Today, the university consists of twelve faculties with about 27,500 students (as of 2005) and about 1,000 faculty members.
