Unterbergla is a municipality with 1342 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Germany in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community of Great Saint Florian, the new community will continue to use the name " Great Saint Florian ".

Geography

Unterbergla located in Western Styria in the middle Laßnitztal south of the river Laßnitz. It extends to the ridge of the Gleinz.

History

In Unterbergla are a number of archaeological sites that document the settlement of the area at least since the Neolithic period. Excavations in Grub and Unterbergla laid in 2008 a settlement layer of the Bronze Age and a house floor plan free. Another reason for archaeological finds were the work on the oil and gas pipelines ( AWP and TAG), which traverse the municipality.

The name Hasreith 1390 is as Rasrewt. The name is seen as a compound word, as " Slavic- German Mischkompositum ". His second syllable is derived from a clearing. His first syllable is not attributed to rabbits, but to the Slavic word raz which is also called a (wooden) shock, a clearing agency.

The area of Unterbergla was part of the Mark on the Mur, which was separated in 1122 to the heartland of Styria and 1180 as Duchy of Styria from Bavaria. The area was ruled by the family of Otakare 1192 ago, then it belonged to the extent it was not owned by the Fürsterzbistums Salzburg, due to the rules of succession of George Handfeste to the territory of the Babenbergs as the Dukes of Styria.

The cadastral Sulzhof evidence was found on a building system of the time. In 1209 Otto von Sulz is called, in 1347 a Irg of Sulz. At the end of the 15th century belonged to the estate of the family of Lemsitzer, followed by marriage and inheritance in the hotel's vicinity also wealthy families of the Holle Egger and Galler. The farm belonged to subjects in the surrounding areas such as forest chess, Petzelsdorf, Gleinz, Let Bert, Oberg Reith, Dörfl and Hasreith. The Sulzhof lay in the vicinity of the farm vlg. Schneiderhoisl on a small ridge at Plot No. 341/2 KG 61060 Sulzhof. This plot is shown in the zoning plan as archaeological excavation discovery site, in the compilations of the Federal Monuments Office on listed buildings in Unterbergla but it is not listed. On it there is a 50 by 20 meters large plateau, there are just more blocks of stone, mortar tracks and landforms documented, pointing to a building facility, walls are no longer recognizable. In the years around 1711/12 the remains of the building are removed and have been used for the reconstruction of the church of Gross St. Florian.

From 1282 to 1918 the area was largely under the rule of the Habsburgs, but it was from 1477 to 1490 for the territory of Matthias Corvinus. How many areas of Styria had to suffer under the Ottoman raids in the years 1529 and 1532.

1870, the name of the former municipality Sulzhof heard of tax community Zelko was changed to Mönichgleinz, while the name of the settlement Zelko was retained.

On November 6, 1918 Unterbergla came as part of Styria to the Republic of German - Austria. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 he came to Reichsgau Styria, 1945 to 1955, he was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

The municipality was created on 1 January 1968 Unterbergla the merger of the previously independent municipalities Grub at Great Saint Florian, Hasreith, Nassau, Sulzhof and a part of the community Michlgleinz (whose eponymous cadastral ) with the former town Unterbergla. The name of the municipality Grub had been changed on June 1, 1951 in Grub at Great Saint Florian. To Grub also includes the village of Langegg, 1868 still formed a separate parish.

Culture and sights

Coat of arms

The coat of arms description ( blazon ) reads: " Gold is a gold spruce blue carp from its dorsal fin a golden spruce blue peacock's tail grows. "

In the design of the coat of arms of the municipality coat of arms dating from the Gleinzer Bergland family of Gleinzer was assumed that led a so-called oberhalben peacock in silver plate. Since the fish farming goes back in the municipality at least until the time of the beginnings of the modern landlord farming (16th cent.) In the municipal area and today is the importance of carp culture, recording the carp appeared in the coat of arms make sense. The color blue was chosen for the carp. The main color impression of a peacock is also blue. Since gold is a warm metal, a balance to the cold blue color was obtained.

The seven peacock feathers represent the seven Katastralgemeinden the community dar. By the way, to let the peacock feathers growing from the dorsal fin and the tail fin of the carp was a close connection between the presence produced with the past.

The award was presented by regulation of the Styrian Provincial Government with effect from 1 June 1988.

Demographics

The number of inhabitants in the area of Unterbergla has not changed significantly in the last 150 years, it is around 1,400 people.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is predominantly rural structure, the proportion of full- time farmers has fallen below 10%. Particularly well known is the community for the high number of ponds in which mainly carp are bred. This has also been reflected on the municipal coat of arms, showing a carp with peacock feathers. Originally a peacock was the municipal coat of arms animal.

Cadastral Michlgleinz

Michlgleinz is a small village with 81 households. It is located on the municipal boundary to Wettmannstätten and Great Saint Florian and at the county line to the district of Leibnitz. The center form the chapel, the fire station and the Municipal House. The community house is also the facility of cooling Community Michlgleinz. The village offers many leisure activities: So there is a swimming pool, tennis courts (2 clay courts), a football pitch, a multi-purpose space for various events ( about 1800 square meters ) and a guest house (Pizzeria Stoiser ). The local fire department is one of 122 members and is the strongest man fire department in the district. The volunteer fire department Michlgleinz organized every year a three-day festival tent.
