Upper Beeding is a municipality in the district of Horsham in West Sussex, England. It is close to the River Adur in the north of the South Downs. Upper Beeding works in close cooperation with neighboring municipalities Bramber and Steyning.

History

Upper Beedings history dates back to Anglo-Saxon times. At that time the close neighboring communities Beeding and Sele linked to the municipality Beeding. For the longest time in its history today known as Upper Beeding place was simply called Beeding. In the 13th century, monks, however, in about 15 miles away St. Leonard 's Forrest, a small mission, which became known as Lower Beeding. Probably to distinguish between the two places, the prefix Upper Beeding received. An exact date of name change is unknown. Infrastructure
