Urana Shire

Urana is located north of the Murray River about 350 km west of the Australian capital Canberra and 380 km north-east of Melbourne in the region. The area includes 17 districts and towns: Boonoke North, Boonongo, Cocketgedong, Coonong, Coorabin, Cullivel, Greenvale, Morundah, Oaklands, Rand, Urana, Urana South, Widgiewa, Yuluma and parts of Boree Creek, Bundure and Daysdale. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the town of Urana in the center of the LGA east of Lake Urana, where about 340 inhabitants.

Management

The Urana Shire Council has nine members, who are elected by the residents of three wards ( three each from Wards A, B and C). These three districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
