Usedom-Nord

In office Usedom -Nord in the north- east of the district Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ) are joined together to do their administrative business five municipalities. On 1 January 2005, the four municipalities Karl Hagen, Mölschow, Peenemünde and Trassenheide were pooled from the former official at the mouth of the Peene until then amt free community Zinnowitz to the new exchange Usedom- Nord. The administrative headquarters is located in the gulls Straße 1 in Zinnowitz.

The office area extends from the isthmus means of Usedom to the northern tip of the island of Usedom. It is bordered by the Baltic Sea in the north and east, the Peene River in the west and the backwaters in the south. Higher elevations there is not in office. The entire office area is located in the nature park Usedom Island.

The tourism in the Baltic Sea, especially in the resorts, especially in Zinnowitz, economically plays a prominent role. The fishing and agriculture have hardly significance and industry is virtually non-existent. The power plant Peenemünde was decommissioned in 1990.

Through the Office of Usedom North State Road 111 Wolgast lead over Zinnowitz by Mellenthin and the railway lines Heringsdorf Wolgaster ferry and Zinnowitz Peenemünde.

An extension of the official administration is located in the main street 40 in Karl Hagen.
