Val d'Anniviers

The Val d' Anniviers ( German Eifischtal ) in the Swiss canton of Valais is a southern tributary of the Rhone Valley.

Geography

In the district of Sierre lying, the valley to the south extends directly from the town of Sierre.

The Val d' Anniviers is the easternmost (and top ) on the left side Rhonenebental in the French speaking part of the canton, the Lower Valais. Neighboring valleys in the East ( Rhône- up) are the Turtmanntal and the Matter. In the west, the Val d' Hérens is.

The Val d' Anniviers separates at Vissoie into two valleys, the western Val de Moiry extends to the Moiry glacier above the artificial lake Lac de Moiry.

The eastern Val de Zinal extends to the Zinalgletscher. Meanwhile, scree-covered tongue fed by several Firnströmen, the Glacier des Bouquetins, the Glacier du Grand Cornier, the Glacier Durand and the Glacier de l' Obergabelhorn.
