Val (Rychnov nad Kněžnou District)

Val ( German Wall ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north-east of Dobruška in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains and belongs to Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou.

Geography

Val on the right side of the creek Bačetínský creek. Through the village leads the state road 298 from Dobruška after Olešnice Orlické Mountains.

Neighboring towns are Chlístov and Zákraví in the north, and Vanovka Ohnišov in the northeast, Vlaské Doly and Bačetín in the east, in the southeast Provoz, Doly in the south, southwest, and Běstviny Křovice in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Val took place in 1361.

Between 1960 and 1991 Chlístov was incorporated. In the village there is a natural theater.

The municipality of Val consists of the districts Provoz ( Prowos ) and Val (Wall ) and the local documents and Doly Doly Valské.

Attractions

  • In Provoz the wooden building of a mill from 1816 is worth seeing.
