Vale of White Horse

Vale of White Horse is a District in the County of Oxfordshire in England and is named after the Geoglyph Uffington White Horse. Council is based in Abingdon; significant sights are Grove, Faringdon and Wantage.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough Abingdon, the Urban District Wantage, Abingdon and Faringdon of the Rural District and part of the Wantage Rural District. Prior to 1974, owned the entire area of ​​the administrative county of Berkshire.
