Valensole ( from the Latin vallis valley and solis sun, so Valley of the Sun ) is a commune in the Alpes -de -Haute- Provence ( Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur) with 3247 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Geography
Geographical Location
The place is surrounded by a mountainous valley of the Provence, surrounded by lavender and almond trees, wheat fields, which constitute the main source of income with tourism. The municipality is located in the Regional Natural Park Verdon.

Valensole is located about 580 m above sea level. NN on the plateau Valensol.
