Valeriy Abramov

Valeri Aleksandrovich Abramov (Russian Валерий Александрович Абрамов, English transcription Valeriy Abramov, . Born August 22, 1956 in Jerzewo, Arkhangelsk Oblast ) is a retired Russian long- distance runner who competed for the Soviet Union.

In the Indoor Athletics Championships 1981 in Grenoble Abramov won bronze over 3000 m (real 2820 m). In 1982 another bronze medal in this discipline at the European Indoor Championships in Milan a sixth place in the 5000m at the European Athletics Championships in Athens.

In 1983, he took in the European Indoor Championships in Budapest silver over 3000m and was at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki Eleventh about 5000 m, 1984, he won in the competitions of friendship over 10,000 m.

In 1978 he became Soviet champion over 1,500 m, 10,000 m in 1987. In the hall, he won four national titles over 3000 m (1978, 1981-1983) and a more than 1500 m ( 1983).
