Vanatinai

Vanatinai (formerly Sudest, on many maps and white-throated ) is an island of volcanic origin in the South East of Louisiade Archipelago in Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea. The fringed by coral reefs island situated 360 km southeast of New Guinea and 35 km south-east of the island of Misima.

With an area of ​​865.7 km ², it is the largest island of the archipelago. At the 2000 census there were 19 villages on the island and five other facilities with a total of 2,440 inhabitants.
