Vehicle registration plates of Ecuador

The license plate of Ecuador have black writing on white background and correspond in size to the U.S. sign type. The number plates are composed of three letters, a short hyphen and three to four digits. The first letter in this case indicates the corresponding province, was registered in the vehicle. Furthermore, the second letter is used in conjunction with the background color of the label to determine the Vehicle detail. Center is located above the inscription of the country name in capital letters. Older indicator showed only a letter and a sequential number and the name of the province at the bottom of the shield.
