Veľká Lúka

VeLka Lúka ( German Great Meadows, Hungarian Nagyrét ) is a municipality in the district of Zvolen in central Slovakia.

Geography

The village of Velka Luka is situated in the western part of the valley basin Altsohler ( Zvolenska kotlina ), in the area of the spa Sliač, 14 km from Banská Bystrica ( German Neusohl ) and 7 km from the district town of Zvolen ( German Altsohl ) away, near the airport Sliač. The 389 inhabitants ( 2004) living in 136 houses. The total area covers 854 hectares at an altitude 308-470 m. Through the village of Bach Lukavica, which opens later in the Hron flows.

History

The first written mention as Nogreth dates from the year 1281st From 1988-1995 VeLka Lúka was incorporated to Sliač.
