Velké Březno

Březno ( German United Priesen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It has 1960 inhabitants and is situated on the right bank of the Elbe between Ústí nad Labem ( Usti nad Labem ) and Decin ( Decin ). The municipality at the mouth of the creek Homolský into the Elbe is a popular summer resort and is part of the Okres Ústí nad Labem Usti nad Labem Region and Region. It is situated in 139 m asl

History

The town was first mentioned in 1167 as Brezina or villa Nabrezine documented and was founded by the Knights Hospitaller. In the 13th and 14th centuries were the Wartenberg owner of the domain. 1520 bought Friedrich von Saalhausen possession and in 1582 acquired Abraham von Bock the rule. Other owners were the lords of Miltitz Ditrichstein and the Count Harrach.

1841 acquired Karel Chotková for 170,000 guilders the rule. 1890, the local railway Large - Billed Wernstadt - Auscha was opened. It is now closed, on a part of the route until after Zubrnice runs a museum railway. Built in 1753 Březno brewery is part of Ústecké pivovary and produces the beer brand Březňák. Březno was the Habsburg monarchy part of the judicial district or the district Aussig Aussig during the time.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Březno Valtířov ( Walt deer ) and Březno (Great Billed ). Basic settlement units are Osada, Valtířov, Březno and Vítov ( Wittal ). To Březno also includes the settlements Nový Les ( Neuwald ), Varta ( Warta ) and Velichov ( What ).

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Valtířov nad Labem, Březno and Vítov u Velkého Březná.
