Verdesse

Verdesse is a white grape variety in small quantities in the Isere department in eastern France ( Vin de Savoie, VDQS - Wine Vin du Bugey, Vin de Pays de Grésivaudan, country wines from the valley of the Drac ) is cultivated. It provides strong alcohol, spicy white wine with floral aromas, but without nutmeg as imply some of the synonyms. The late-ripening variety is also used as a table grape, is quite resistant to raw rot but susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew. Verdesse is a variety of the noble vine (Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is thus self- fruiting. When the wine-growing economic disadvantage is avoided, no return delivered to have male plants grow.
