Veselin Đuranović

Veselin Đuranović ( born May 17, 1925 at the village Martinići, Danilovgrad, Yugoslavia; † August 30, 1997 ) was a Yugoslav politician of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia ( LCY ).

Biography

Đuranović was in his native Republic, the Socialist Republic of Montenegro, active and indeed from June 1963 to December 1966 as Chairman of the Executive Council (Prime Minister) and then from December 1968 to 1977 as secretary of the Central Committee of the LCY and therefore as a leader of the republic.

After the death of Džemal Bijedić in a plane crash on 18 January 1977 he was posted on February 14, 1977, his successor as Chairman of the Federal Executive Council (Prime Minister) of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ( SFRY). He held more than five years and was replaced on 16 May 1982 Milka Planinc this office.

Đuranović himself was after initially from May 1982 to May 1983 Chairman of the Presidium and thus President of SR Montenegro.

He most recently served as Chairman of the Presidium of the SFRY President from May 1984 to May 1985. Succeeded in this office Radovan Vlajković was.
